Meteorology Awards & Scholarships

The Nancy C. Wick Outstanding Senior and Jack Villmow Outstanding Junior Awards are available for meteorology majors through the Department of Geography

 

Established in 2003, by

- faculty & friends of the Department of Geography,
- the family of Jack Villmow, and
- the family of Nancy C. Wick

Criteria for the Nancy C. Wick Award

  • senior in meteorology
  • academic & professional achievements

Criteria for the Jack Villmow Award

  • junior in meteorology
  • academic achievement

Meteorology Deans Award:
Established in 1970 by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to give recognition to senior students who have made outstanding contributions to their major departments.

Award Criteria

  • ≥ 90 semester hrs earned at NIU
  • NIU GPA ≥ 3.0
  • academic merit and service to department/college/community

Applications for these awards may be obtained from the Department of Geography, Davis Hall, Room 118, and are available at the beginning of the spring semester. Completed forms must be returned to the Department of Geography by early- to mid-February.
