Director of the Department of Geography's Advanced Geospatial Laboratory, which is a member of Intergraph's Registered Research Laboratory (RRL) group. Primary projects involve research and prototype development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This laboratory provides a unique "hands on" experience for students interested in GIS as a discipline, department and university support for research and academic endeavors, as well as design and production of GIS projects for both on and off campus clients. Off campus clients include government agencies and non-for-profit organizations.
Secondary position is Computer Administrator for all departmental
computer systems. This includes workstations, computer labs, LAN, servers and accounts. The present department network includes multiple computer labs and a variety computer systems.
Other duties include teaching several online GIS courses [Geog 359/655 and Geog 468/790k] which are both part of the Department of Geography’s GIS certificate program
