Research interests focus generally on the both naturally occurring and anthropogenic impacts on plant communities. These include natural disturbances such as fire, windthrow, and treefalls as well as human-induced disturbance such as climate change, exotic species introductions, habitat fragmentation, and alteration of natural disturbance regimes (e.g. fire suppression). Recent publications and research has focused on predicting the potential impact of climate change on both forest and agricultural systems.
